Mid Rogue Independent Physician Association
In 1994, local physicians joined together to form an association, in a sense, a “team,” to focus on prevention of illness and to promote a healthy lifestyle in Southern Oregon. Mid Rogue Independent Physician Association (IPA) represents more than 70 independent physicians in private practice in Josephine County and Rogue River in Jackson County. Our mission is to advance the independent practice of medicine in Southern Oregon.
An “independent” physician is in private practice, and is not an employee of a hospital, a clinic or an HMO. Local physicians join Mid Rogue IPA to gain the advantage of group purchasing, recruitment, shared information systems, electronic medical records, etc. The IPA also negotiates commercial, state and federal contracts with insurance companies on behalf of its physicians. Mid Rogue IPA is an effective mechanism for independent physicians to achieve economies of scale and competitive advantages without practice mergers.
Mid Rogue IPA’s physicians are empowered to deliver individualized patient care by utilizing “Best Practice” guidelines with the most recent medical technologies. Because our physicians are independent, they can truly deliver the kind of one-on-one, doctor-to-patient care that is so sought after.
Our Mission: Working together to provide quality, cost-effective healthcare for our communities.
